Attleboro Fire Department responds to ‘flash explosion’

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Firefighters responded to an unusual call Thursday morning after there were reports of an explosion on County Street in Attleboro.

In a post on social media, the department said that a chemical agent was being used to clean a metal melting machine at Bruce Diamond Corporation when there was a “flash explosion.”

The building’s sprinkler system was activated, and the employees there were quickly able to put out the fire with fire extinguishers…
