Program approved for New River Valley students to study arts & humanities

RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) – In a unanimous vote, the Virginia Board of Education approved the creation of the New River Valley Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities.

According to officials, this is the first new Governor’s School approved in the Commonwealth since 2009.

The half-day program will be housed on the Radford University campus and serve students in Giles County, Montgomery County, Floyd County, Pulaski County, and Radford City Public Schools…
