GRAFTON – A man allegedly suffocated a friend after she woke up to him going through her pocketbook.
At about 5:02 a.m. on August 3, two Grafton Police Department officers responded to a Providence Road apartment after a report of an assault involving strangulation. A 49-year-old reported victim and an alleged suspect, Russell Rabideau, 29, were both at the scene.
The police originally responded with the understanding it was a domestic assault. As a matter of policy, the Community Advocate does not report on domestic issues. However, the Grafton Police Department later determined that this was not a domestic violence incident.
