The City of Madison has been keeping a close eye on the heavy rain in the area. We are currently under a flood watch through Monday morning, Aug. 11, 2025. Residents should continue to stay vigilant because there is still a potential for flash flooding. We’ve seen streets flood near the intersection of East Johnson and Fourth Streets, Lexington Avenue & Stoughton Road, in addition to other areas of the City.
Flashing flood can occur anywhere throughout the City when the stormwater infrastructure cannot convey the amount of water that is falling.
In advance of and during these storms, Engineering crews have been cleaning storm sewers and grates in priority locations to ensure the storm sewer will function as well as possible…
