Families struggling to meet everyday needs now have new and expanded access to free diapers and baby essentials, lightening the burden for parents and caregivers across the city.
For many Detroit families, the costs of raising a baby—often an average of $70-100 monthly just for diapers—can be a heavy financial strain, especially for those already living paycheck to paycheck. The National Diaper Bank Network estimates that 1 in 3 U.S. families experience diaper need, and inflation has only increased these pressures in recent months.
