Four-ton potato rolls into Tennessee from Idaho

PINEY FLATS, Tenn. (WJHL) — Idaho’s most famous Tater Team brought a four-ton potato to Tennessee on Sunday.

The four-ton spud, known as “America’s favorite potato,” attracted visitors from the Tri-Cities for photos, stories about Idaho and a bit of starchy education.

“So what we do is we go on a seven-month tour every year, representing over 700 family farmers in Idaho, with our big four-ton potato,” Erin Witherspoon, Idaho Potato Tour Brand Ambassador, said. “We just love spreading the word about Idaho, potatoes, and Idaho in general.”…
