AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Tuesday,
- The left lane of southbound I-27 from just north of McCormick Road to FM 2219 will be closed for concrete barrier removal. The work will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Wednesday,
- The left lane of southbound I-27 from just north of McCormick Road to FM 2219 will be closed for concrete barrier removal. The work will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14.
Thursday,
- Southbound I-27 traffic will be moved to the newly-widened shoulder from FM 2219 to just south of Amarillo. The traffic switch will require various entrance and exit ramps to be closed in that area for short periods of time. The switch is expected to be completed by Saturday, Aug. 16.
Throughout the Week
- Expect various left lane closures on the I-40 frontage road from Washington Street to Soncy Road for high-mast lighting installation.
- There will be various lane closures in both directions of I-27 at Georgia Street and SW 45th Avenue for pavement marking.
- Expect daily lane closures on SH 15 from the east side of Perryton to the west side of Booker for asphalt rehabilitation and hot mix overlay operations. The work is expected to be completed this summer. Traffic lights and a pilot car will be in designated areas to guide traffic during this time.
Please drive with caution and reduce speed through all work zones. All projects are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, and other unexpected events.
