MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Fans got to meet the people behind their favorite TV shows, video games, comics, and tabletop games at the second annual Madison Comic and Pop Culture Expo Saturday.
Dozens of celebrities came to the Alliant Energy Center to meet, chat, and take pictures with fans.
Anjali Bhimani was at the Expo, ready to meet attendees. She has been featured in many TV shows and is the voice behind the character Symmetra in the video game Overwatch and Rampart in the video game Apex Legends.
“When you’re putting out a performance, you don’t know if it’s affecting people, you don’t know how they’re feeling about it, but getting to be here with all of these folks and seeing what lights them up and then asking about their lives and getting to know who they are,” said Bhimani. “The connection that you can make is just unparalleled.”
The Expo also featured hundreds of vendors selling artwork and merchandise related to various ‘fandoms.’
“A lot of the artists that are here, their individual talents really shine, and what they have to offer is really unique,” said Carrie Hanson, an Expo attendee. ”If you’re looking for anything in particular, any particular designs, any particular characters, this is the place to find them.”
For some, the Comic and Pop Culture Expo is a chance to meet other super fans in the area…
