WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating after a Metro Transit police officer fired their gun during a stop in Northeast on Sunday.
Details are limited, but Metro told DC News Now that the incident took place as Metro Transit Police Department officers were participating in a federal task force operation throughout the weekend.

According to officials, the shooting happened on Aug. 10, around 12:15 a.m., when officers attempted to conduct a stop off of Metro property, near 48th and Sheriff Road. That’s when the suspect took out a gun, according to officials.
