Birmingham police make 32 arrests, seize 13 guns in last week’s crime crackdown

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Police Department’s Special Operations Bureau has reported significant results from its recent crime reduction efforts. During the week of August 4 to August 11, 2025, the department’s Special Enforcement Division made 32 arrests as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety and improving the quality of life in the city.

The arrests included 21 felony charges and 11 misdemeanors. In addition to the arrests, officers seized 13 firearms, three of which were reported stolen. The division also conducted 221 traffic stops, resulting in 257 citations, including 25 for speeding. Four vehicles were impounded during the enforcement period.

Narcotics seizures were substantial, with officers confiscating 3 grams of cocaine, 5.9 grams of crack cocaine, 4.48 grams of crystal meth, 5.95 grams of fentanyl, 0.38 grams of heroin, 44 hydrocodone pills, 302.3 grams of marijuana, 19.9 grams of MDMA/ecstasy (55 pills), and 75.4 grams of oxycodone…
