Grand jury charges Chattanooga man with conspiring with his brother to commit murder

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — A Chattanooga man who police say helped his brother try to fool the law so he could commit murder now faces a grand jury indictment.

Chattanooga Police arrested Caleb Jeremy Askins on Sunday.

Askin, his younger brother Samuel Askins, and 2 other people face charges for the shooting death of a 48-year-old man back on August 29th, 2023 on Maryland Street in Hill City.

At the time, Samuel Askins was wearing a court-ordered ankle monitor, but police say he had been able to remove it…
