Post-Panthers Game Tragedy, One Dead, Another Injured in I-277 Uptown Charlotte Collision

A man died and another was injured in a crash on I-277 in Uptown on Saturday morning. QC News reported the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. near Exit 1E, close to Bank of America Stadium.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reported a crash on I-277 involving a red 2006 Honda Civic and a black 1996 Ford Explorer. The driver of the Honda, 32-year-old Peter Jacob Didier, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WCNC. The 57-year-old driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The interstate was closed until about 8:30 a.m., with the vehicles removed before 7 a.m…
