BAY CITY, Mich. — Harrison Bass Pro Angler Jacob Wheeler made history — again.
Wheeler won another Major League Fishing event, and a check for $150,000. But at the same time, Wheeler claimed another Angler of the Year (AOY) Award which came with an additional $100,000. The #1-ranked angler in the world has claimed the AOY spot four out of the last five years.
The AOY Award goes to the MLF pro who garners the highest number of overall points (based on how high you finish each tournament) after seven regular season tournaments.
Following his 10th MLF career win and AOY Award, Wheeler said, “I still don’t know what to say, to be honest with you. I don’t even believe it half the time. I just go fishing and things happen. I’m just speechless. It’s crazy, it really is.”…
