Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post welcomes two new troopers

FORT WAYNE – The Fort Wayne Post welcomes two new probationary troopers who graduated from the 87th Indiana State Police Academy on July 24, 2025. While at the Indiana State Police Academy, each recruit receives over 1,200 hours of intensive instruction, which includes criminal and traffic law, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, firearms training, crash investigation, first aid, and other essential areas of modern policing.

These Troopers will now begin a three-month field training program. This time is designed to take the education they received at the academy and apply it in real-world situations, with guidance from a Field Training Officer. After completing the field training program, the new troopers will be issued an Indiana State Police patrol vehicle and assigned solo patrol within the Fort Wayne District.
