Kent County hosting community festival in Cedar Springs

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — Kent County is holding its first-ever North Community Fest this week in Cedar Springs.

The family-friendly celebration will run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kent County North Campus, located at 4191 17 Mile Rd. NE. It will include food trucks, free ice cream, live demonstrations from the sheriff’s office, trucks on display and activities for kids, like face painting and balloon animals. As the beginning of the school year approaches, the health department will also be offering vaccines on site.

“This event is all about having fun, getting to know our North Campus, and bringing county government closer to the people we serve,” said Ben Greene, chair of the Kent County Board of Commissioners, in a statement. “We invite families, individuals, and neighbors from across the county to enjoy free festivities, food trucks, games, and more — while meeting our team and learning about the programs and services that support our community.”
