ROCHESTER, N.Y. – City leaders and members of the Rochester Housing Authority are set to celebrate the opening of new affordable housing units in the South Wedge neighborhood. The Bond Hamilton Townhouses will add six new ADA-accessible options for Rochester families seeking affordable housing.
This project has been in the works since 2019 and is part of the Rochester Housing Authority’s “Change the Face of Public Housing” initiative. The authority aims to ensure everyone in the region has access to high-quality, safe, and affordable housing.
“Just because it’s public housing doesn’t mean at least to look like public housing inside and out,” said Shawn Burr, executive director of the Rochester Housing Authority. “We’re putting features in these units and make them high quality, which means less maintenance costs going forward. But providing these really nice amenities, which we would all want in our homes for our residents. And it’s important that they have quality, high quality, units to live in.”…
