WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Skywatch Bird Rescue recently rescued an owl from a car grille.
According to the rescue, the owl was removed from the car grille by the Skywatch director and her husband after the car’s owner came to the rescue for help.
The owl experienced some exhaustion and bodily trauma, but did not sustain any injuries to its eyes or broken bones affecting its ability to fly, stated the rescue.
Skywatch successfully released the owl back into the wild after rehabilitating it.
The rescue states that these incidents are not uncommon, and owls often become stuck in car grilles when they are hit by a car. Most of the time, the owls sustain fatal injuries from these incidents…
