Accident victim was Clayton High grad, UNCW student

CLAYTON, N.C. — Police have identified the woman struck and killed by a train in downtown on Aug. 5 as 21-year-old EllaRyan Marie Miller.

Police said Miller, a 2022 graduate of Clayton High School, had just finished her summer job on Main Street around 5 p.m. and was walking to her car, which was parked in a lot on Front Street. While crossing the railroad tracks on foot, she stepped in front of an Amtrak train headed west toward Raleigh.

She was pronounced dead at the scene…
