Man charged with second-degree murder after heroin found in Baton Rouge hotel room

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation into an overdose death led to the arrest of a man at a hotel in Baton Rouge.

Darren Curry, 45, was charged with second-degree murder and possession Schedule I.

Detectives responded to a hotel in the 10000 block of Rieger Road on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Law enforcement executed a search warrant for a room at the hotel and found Curry inside.

An arrest report reveals Curry was detained during a search of the room, which uncovered 1.36 grams of heroin in a baggie. Those drugs were found in a bathroom, EBRSO said…
