Dive Brief:
- Maverik’s chief development officer, Nicole Mason, was the lone c-suite executive included in the convenience retailer’s restructuring last week, according to a notice Maverik sent to the Iowa Workforce Development, which was obtained by C-Store DIve.
- The restructuring will see 100 staffers lose their jobs by early 2026, according to the letter. In a statement to the publication We Are Iowa last week, Maverik said the shift aims to “improve efficiency and better serve our growing customer base.”
- Although Mason is the only c-suite team member to be part of the layoffs, the cuts also include managers and senior staffers across several departments.

She was promoted to chief development officer of Maverik in September of that year, according to her LinkedIn bio.
Real estate isn’t the only team being impacted by the restructuring. Information technology is expected to see the most cuts, resulting in about 20% of the reductions, according to the notice. Behind IT is merchandising and human resources, both of which will see seven team members lose their jobs. Foodservice, accounting, asset management and real estate development will all see at least five team members lose their jobs…
