Omaha Man Sentenced to Federal Prison on Drug and Firearm Charges

(Council Bluffs) An Omaha man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

On August 6, 2025, 41-year-old Rafael Rashad Adams was sentenced to 72 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

According to court records, in September 2024, Council Bluffs police found Adams passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with front-end damage near South Expressway and 30th Avenue. A search of the vehicle uncovered about 31.5 grams of marijuana, scales, drug packaging material, a stolen loaded nine-millimeter pistol, and a loaded 15-round magazine…
