PHILOMATH, Ore. – A fatal shooting incident in Philomath that happened early on Saturday is currently under investigation, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
BCSO officials said that the incident happened around 2:18 a.m. on August 9 on College Street, when a domestic assault escalated. Gerardo Martinez Flores, 36, was shot while attacking someone with a knife. Flores was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Benton County Major Crimes Team is actively investigating with full cooperation from all involved parties. No arrests have been made…
