Brooklyn Pro-Wrestling Fan Wins Big on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

A pro-wrestling fan from Brooklyn, New York, Frank Mentesana, took home over $65,000 on a recent episode of “Wheel of Fortune.” Mentesana’s journey to victory was a nail-biter, featuring a dramatic comeback and a hilarious blunder by another contestant.

Initially, Alabama resident Angela Johnson took an early lead, even winning a Scottish cruise in the Express Round. While Johnson racked up over $20,000, Mentesana trailed behind with just $5,850.

However, the tide turned during the Triple Toss Up round. Johnson incorrectly guessed “A Case of the Munchies” instead of “A Case of the Mondays,” allowing Mentesana to capitalize and gain momentum.

He ultimately clinched the lead by solving the final Speed Up puzzle, winning $18,000 and bringing his total to $25,850. Johnson finished with $20,600.

In the Bonus Round, Mentesana chose “Phrase” as his category. Joined by his son, brother-in-law, and brother, he faced the puzzle “T O _ _ H / _ _ T / F _ _ R” after selecting his letters. With the clock ticking, he correctly solved the puzzle as “Tough But Fair,” earning an additional $40,000.

His enthusiastic family rushed the stage, celebrating with vigorous pats on the head and back. Host Ryan Seacrest jokingly cautioned them, “Wait, now don’t beat him up!”
