SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Authorities in Sevierville reported that a man shot and killed a black bear after it broke into his home early Monday morning.
According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), the bear entered the man’s house through a screen door in Sevierville. The homeowner awoke to find the bear in his kitchen, said TWRA agents.
Although the bear eventually left the house, it lingered in the area, prompting the man to shoot it with a shotgun for self-protection, the TWRA said…
