Horry County Schools developing ‘ethical’ framework for AI use in classrooms

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County school leaders will spend the next months building a framework for how AI can be used ethically by students and teachers alike, officials said Monday.

The news comes nearly a year after Horry County Schools said it was starting to write policies around AI use.

“The ethical use of AI is something we’re really going to need to lean into and figure out how we’re going to get it into our curriculum, and one of the things as you think about as a portrait of a graduate, it’s their future we’re building toward, not our present and they’re going to need our help with this,” Superintendent Cliff Jones said during a Monday work session…
