Foley Welcomed More Than 4,000 Educators Ahead of Classes

Mayor praises dedication of teachers and school staff during kickoff

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — Foley welcomed thousands of educators this past Friday as the Baldwin County Public School System held its annual Staff Institute to prepare for the start of the 2025-26 academic year. The gathering brought together teachers, staff, and administrators from across Baldwin County. City leaders joined school officials to celebrate the dedication of those working to educate Baldwin County’s students. The event also served as a reminder of the close relationship between the school system and the community.

The institute took place at the Foley Event Center on Friday, August 8. More than 4,000 school employees attended the program ahead of the first day of classes today, Monday, August 11. The event marked a countywide kickoff to the new school year, featuring remarks from city and school leaders.
