A new apartment building is coming to 3401 Blvd. of the Allies. But, it isn’t just housing — the new space is slated to have a grocery store on the ground floor, bringing necessary resources to Oakland residents plagued by a growing food desert.
Construction will redevelop the site of the former Quality Inn, which closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is part of a 75-year ground lease between the University of Pittsburgh and developer Radnor Property Group.
