Coroner identifies man who died during incident at Point Place bank

The man who walked into a Point Place KeyBank Friday and shot into the ceiling died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office said Monday.

Dr. Thomas Blomquist identified the man as 47-year-old Keith Johnson. Following an autopsy, his cause of death was “gunshot wound of the head, suicide,” the coroner said.

The incident began about 3:40 p.m. Friday with Toledo police and the FBI responding to a report of a suspected robbery and shooting at the bank at 5037 Suder Ave. At 4:08 p.m., while surveilling the bank, police reported seeing the man put the gun to his head and pull the trigger…
