Construction truck driver cited for unsecure load after leaving trail of asphalt chunks and rocks on road

The driver of a construction truck was cited for having an unsecure load after the truck reportedly left a trail of debris on its way to a construction site.

A motorist called Bowling Green Police Division on Saturday (Aug. 9) around 11 a.m., after the witness reportedly saw the Gerken Construction vehicle dropping large amounts of debris onto the road as it turned from East Poe Road onto North Main Street.

Police found a trail of rocks and asphalt chunks that began in the 1200 block of East Poe Road, turned north onto North Main Street, continued west on Van Camp Road, south on Fairview Avenue, and into the Bowling Green Middle School parking lot…
