CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi city leaders are weighing the possibility of reinstating the $5 street user fee — a charge they say once funneled millions into road projects. Without it, some warn, street repairs could slow down and projects could pile up.
That fee, added to residents’ utility bills, once generated millions for major, high-traffic roadwork on streets like Everhart and Airline. Without it, officials said, the pace of street repairs across the city could change.
