Developments in the murder case of ‘King of the Hill’ voice actor Jonathan Joss

The man accused of killing King of the Hill voice actor Jonathan Joss will soon appear in a court hearing, Bexar County records show. The 59-year-old San Antonio native, who was beloved for his role as John Redcorn in the sitcom, was shot and killed outside his Southside home on June 1.

Ceja, 56, was charged with first-degree murder and has since posted bail on his $200,000 bond. Ceja is set to appear in court for a pre-indictment setting on August 19.

Joss’ husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, wrote in a statement that he believes Ceja killed Joss because he was “homophobic” and “could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.” One day after the shooting, SAPD denied allegations of a “hate crime,” but walked back from that statement as it was “too soon” to release information on the case.
