Best viewing of the Perseid Meteor Shower

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -Pictures from NASA show the Perseid Meteor Shower as ignited bits and pieces from the Swift Tuttle Comet enter the earth’s atmosphere and streak across the sky.

Director of the Fleischmann Planetarium Paul McFarlane picked up some small rocks and placed them in his palm. This was a way to show just how small the debris is in the comet’s wake.

But nevertheless, these bits and pieces put on a big light show…
