MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Two men have died and one person was rushed to the hospital after they may have been exposed to hydrogen sulfide, according to the Mobile Area Sewer and Water System.
MAWSS said the workers were plugging a sewer line to bypass a section to replace the sewer pipe, when one worker was trapped and another worker went in to help.
“The third went in to assess and rescue to see what was going on. He, of course, ended up disoriented, a little woozy.” said Mobile Fire Rescue Spokesperson Steven Millhouse. “So when we arrived on seeing he was crawling out of the hole.”…
