Mobile, Ala. (WKRG) — A new piece of equipment meant to help in the event someone has a sudden heart attack has been installed at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. The SaveStation Tower is the only one in Alabama.
The tower is equipped with a lifesaving Automatic External Defibrillator or AED. It is accessible to anyone 24/7 in the case of a sudden cardiac emergency.
The SaveStation tower is located in front of the gift shop at Battleship Park. The Bay Area Nurse Practitioner Association, along with Coastal Emergency Medical Skills and Heart for Athletes, joined forces to help donate the first SaveStation in the state of Alabama.
