One person has been confirmed dead in a crash that snarled traffic Tuesday on U.S. 301 in Wildwood.
The crash occurred at about 11 a.m. at U.S. 301 near County Road 472.
There were multiple agencies at the scene including the Florida Highway Patrol, Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and Wildwood Police Department. The Medical Examiner’s Office was also there to investigate the death.
A witness said the driver who was killed had been ejected through the sunroof of his vehicle.
