Haagen-Dazs in The Villages shut down due to rodent and roach activity

The Haagen-Dazs ice cream station in The Villages was shut down this past Friday after an inspector found evidence of roach and rodent activity.

The popular spot for cold treats at Lake Sumter Landing was visited by an inspector who found a dead roach on the floor next to a hot water heater and a dead roach on the floor near dry storage racks, according to an inspection report on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

In addition, the inspector found rodent droppings on top of the hot water heater located in a back prep area near a reach-in freezer and rodent droppings on the floor in another location.
