Visitors making a quick stop in downtown Newark to grab coffee or pick up a takeout order could get 15 minutes of free parking under a new proposal.
Newark had long offered a 10-minute grace period before parking fees were incurred, but that was eliminated in 2019 when the city converted parking lots from gates manned by employees to automated kiosks that require customers to pay in advance.
