Rockingham County Schools superintendent to step down next year

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Rockingham County Schools Superintendent Dr. John Stover will step down next year.

He said he intends to work until June 30, 2026, and the Rockingham County Board of Education plans to replace him with Dr. Charles Perkins.

He told the RCBoE in part, “I intentionally announced early to give the board ample time to find a new superintendent and to ensure nothing distracts the district from focusing on the students we serve. Let’s all continue to concentrate on doing our jobs, building on the success of the 24/25 school year.”…
