AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has unveiled a new statewide public safety initiative, 90 Days of Safety, in celebration of its 90th anniversary. DPS Colonel Freeman F. Martin announced the campaign during a press conference at DPS Headquarters in Austin, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in maintaining safety across the state.
The 90 Days of Safety campaign is divided into three 30-day themes: Keeping Texas Communities Safe, Keeping Texas Roads Safe, and Keeping Texas Families Safe. Each segment aims to educate the public on how they can contribute to a safer Texas, according to a press release from the department. The first theme, Keeping Texas Communities Safe, commenced on August 11.
As part of the initiative, DPS will release social media content and public service announcements featuring DPS leaders, aimed at informing the public about safety resources and actions. These announcements will also be displayed in over 180 driver license offices statewide.
