Baton Rouge man given large bond after being charged with 4th DWI while on probation

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A man is in jail after being arrested for his 4th DWI while on probation for a prior DWI conviction.

Horace Joseph Johnson, 50, of Baton Rouge, was charged with driving while intoxicated – 4th offense and driving on a roadway laned for traffic.

The arrest and charges followed a traffic stop on Sunday, Aug. 10. The stop took place on LA 70 in Assumption Parish after a deputy saw Johnson commit multiple traffic violations while heading east.

The deputy smelled alcohol coming from Johnson and tried to have him take part in a field sobriety test…
