HOWARD (WLUK) — Two people were rescued after their vehicle plunged into and became fully submerged in a retention pond in Howard.
Around 7:45 a.m. Monday, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 41 and Shawano Avenue for a vehicle “that had left the roadway and was now floating in a retention pond.” Officials say the vehicle eventually became submerged.
The vehicle’s two occupants were described by officials as “elderly.” Both were able to escape from the vehicle, but could not get to shore. Emergency crews pulled them both to safety and they were taken to a hospital with minor injuries…
