OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Department of Corrections is warning the public of a new phone scam.
According to a release sent Tuesday, callers impersonating Douglas County officials are targeting family members of an inmate. In the calls, scammers ask loved ones for money for the inmate’s release.
If anyone receives a call similar to this, they are asked to hang up and not provide any personal or financial information…
