Las Vegas vinyl shop houses rare and unopened classics

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — One might never expect that a former home in central Las Vegas houses one of the biggest vinyl collections in the country. The green home sits at the corner of Decatur Boulevard and Pennwood Avenue.

Rich Rosen opened Wax Trax Records back in 1998; the shop is currently managed by his son, David Rosen. Wax Trax is home to half a million records. What that means is rows and rows of vinyl featuring everything from rock and jazz to rare and unopened classics.

One of Rosen’s newest arrivals is an “Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged” album, still sealed in its wrapper. Rosen said ’90s vinyl is a hot item right now. Bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Alice in Chains are in high demand.
