Two 18-year-old suspects, Jaquory Arman Watson and Damari Zair Charles, are currently in custody at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange County, following a string of high-end burglaries targeting affluent Southern California residents, including actor Brad Pitt. While charges have been filed against the pair for a separate burglary, with potential enhancements due to the crime being committed with an accomplice, charges related to the Pitt break-in are expected later this week. Two additional juvenile suspects were also apprehended in connection with the burglary ring, though their involvement with the Pitt incident remains unclear.
Pitt’s Los Feliz home was targeted on June 26th while the actor was promoting his recent film, “F1.” The perpetrators scaled a fence, broke a window, and ransacked the property, making off with undisclosed items. Surveillance footage from Pitt’s home was instrumental in identifying the suspects.
This case is the latest in a wave of burglaries plaguing Southern California celebrities and athletes over the past two years. Among the victims are Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Dodgers players Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Max Muncy, and Freddie Freeman, and LAFC striker Olivier Giroud.
