BURNSVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Free meals will be a guarantee for all Yancey County students for the 2025-26 school year, the district announced.
This marks the second consecutive year that Yancey County Schools (YCS) has provided breakfast and lunch to students at no cost.
On Aug. 8, 2024, the district announced that the Yancey County School Board approved a plan to provide free meals for all students during the 2024-2025 school year under the USDA Community Eligibility Provision grant program.
