Parole denied for 75-year-old repeat offender, deemed a risk to public safety

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The California Board of Parole Hearings (BPH) denied release to a convicted rapist and three-strikes offender for crimes committed from 1971 to 1998.

The Kern County District Attorney’s Office said on August 7, 2025, BPH found that Willie Mixon continues to pose a current and unreasonable risk to public safety.

The DA’s office said from 1971 through 1975, Mixon was convicted in five separate cases of theft-related crimes. By 1979, Mixon was convicted and sentenced to 8 years in prison for forcible rape with a weapon, rape of an intoxicated person with a weapon, forcible oral copulation, residential burglary, and robbery…
