Charlotte-area therapists push to fix backlog in testing rape kits

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A newly formed grassroots group of Charlotte-area therapists is pushing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and Mecklenburg County leaders to fix what they say is a three-year backlog in testing rape kits.

The mental health professionals, known as Therapists for Change, say sexual assault survivors are telling them they’re being denied justice.
