SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) – A woman convicted of driving under the influence of drugs, which led to a series of events causing the death of a Michigan State Police trooper, has been sentenced to jail time.
Brooke Allen, 32, was convicted in June of a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. Although the jury found her not guilty of directly causing the death of Trooper Joel Popp, her reckless driving on January 24, 2024, initiated the tragic sequence of events.
