FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — A former Treasure Coast judge who once presided over drug cases will now be navigating one himself.
According to court records filed on August 7, Brett Waronicki, 46, has been ordered into a drug court diversion program and one year of probation following his arrest in April for DUI and cocaine possession. If he completes the program successfully, his charges will be dropped — closing a stunning chapter in the fall of a once-prominent figure in Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit.
The agreement marks a turn for the 46-year-old judge, who resigned in May from the Florida 19th Judicial Circuit Court. His name was removed from the court’s website, and his caseload was reassigned.
