BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A man convicted of murdering a 5-year-old in 2023 has been sentenced to prison.
The case dates back to August 2, 2023, when officials received a call about an unresponsive boy. First responders found the child at the 2900 block of Blue Ridge Springs Road and took him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on August 4.
Deputies with the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33-year-old Zachary Bishop after the cause of death was ruled as a homicide. In 2024, Bishop was indicted on his murder charge, and on August 12, 2025, he was sentenced to prison…
